Semi-Automatically Extracting Features from Source Code of Android Applications

چکیده
It is not always easy for an Android user to choose the most suitable application for a particular task from the great number of applications available. In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic approach to extract feature names from Android applications. The case study verifies that we can associate common sequences of Android API calls with feature names. key words: Android, feature extraction, software categorization, API

Proposing a New Feature for Structure-Aware Analysis of Android Malwares
Android is a major target of attackers for malicious purposes due to its popularity. Despite obvious malicious functionality of Android malware, its analysis is a challenging task. Extracting and using features that discriminate malicious and benign behaviors in applications is essential for malware classi cation in using machine learning methods. In this paper, we propose a new feature in Andr...
متن کاملAutomated Cross-Platform Code Synthesis from Web-Based Programming Resources
For maximal market penetration, popular mobile applications are typically supported on all major platforms, including Android and iOS. Despite the vast differences in the look-and-feel of major mobile platforms, applications running on these platforms in essence provide the same core functionality. As an application is maintained and evolved, the resulting changes must be replicated on all the ...
متن کاملFacilitating the development of cross-platform software via automated code synthesis from web-based programming resources
When a mobile application is supported on multiple major platforms, its market penetration is maximized. Such cross-platform native applications essentially deliver the same core functionality, albeit within the conventions of each supported platform. Maintaining and evolving a cross-platform native application is tedious and error-prone, as each modification requires replicating the changes fo...
متن کاملMantis: Automatic Performance Prediction for Smartphone Applications
We present Mantis, a framework for predicting the performance of Android applications on given inputs automatically, accurately, and efficiently. A key insight underlying Mantis is that program execution runs often contain features that correlate with performance and are automatically computable efficiently. Mantis synergistically combines techniques from program analysis and machine learning. ...
متن کاملAutomatic feature learning for vulnerability prediction
Code flaws or vulnerabilities are prevalent in software systems and can potentially cause a variety of problems including deadlock, information loss, or system failure. A variety of approaches have been developed to try and detect the most likely locations of such code vulnerabilities in large code bases. Most of them rely on manually designing features (e.g. complexity metrics or frequencies o...
